Thales Awarded Second Contract for AN/PRC-154 Rifleman RadiosSeptember 17, 2012 - Thales Communications, Inc. announces that the U.S. Army has awarded the second Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract for AN/PRC-154 Rifleman Radios, part of the Joint Tactical Radio System Handheld, Manpack, and Small Form Fit (JTRS HMS) program. General Dynamics C4 Systems is the prime contractor for the JTRS HMS program, and Thales is responsible for producing 50 percent of all LRIP Rifleman Radios. With this latest award for 13,000 radios and associated ancillaries, the Army has procured more than 19,000 AN/PRC-154 Rifleman Radios.
