Communications interoperability for Federal, State, Local, and U.S. Department of Defense (DoD)
agencies is a national priority. Existing solutions didn't work at events like the Oklahoma City
bombing, Hurricane Katrina, and 9/11. Radios were operating on different frequency bands, and
first responders had to carry multiple radios to communicate with each other.
Thales Communications has leveraged our more than 12 years of Project 25 public safety experience with our unequaled software-defined radio technology base in the Department of Defense and, in 2008, introduced the Liberty Multiband Land Mobile Radio (LMR) to the market.
